Future Brightens for Business

Small business is on the rise with the Double Bay Chamber of Commerce deputy chairman Lesli Berger declaring that the “worst is definitely behind us”.
He said that, while conditions remained weak, Woollahra Council’s revitalisation plan – including the Kiaora Lands development – was taking shape.
“The council’s current strategy of redevelopment will improve the commercial centre as will the opening of the Intercontinental (hotel).”
Kiaora Lands on New South Head Road will include new retail shops, a Woolworths supermarket, cafes, shops, a new library and 442 parking spaces.
Woollahra Mayor Toni Zeltzer visited the Small Biz Connect bus last week while it was in Double Bay and said the general mood in the CBD was positive.
“I speak to local residents and businesses and I am hearing great confidence in the future of Double Bay,” she said.
